On many occasions, I like to push the envelope and experiment with my fashion choices. When the mood strikes, I love to pair different patterns together, or try a new silhouette. I also like to add style and interest to my outfits through accessories and layering.
Though I love to experiment with fashion, I’ll be the first to admit that the outfits I come up with aren’t usually ground-breaking. And honestly? I don’t think you need to come up anything over-the-top to be stylish and put-together. I dress for myself and wear what makes me feel good. Hopefully, that’s how you approach fashion and style, too! I do like to treat myself occasionally though. Just the other day I saw some amazing teddy coats over on the Lily Lulu website that caught my eye. Watch this space!
As a fashion and lifestyle blogger, I feel a unique type of pressure to dress a certain way.
Am I supposed to try all of the new trends? Do I have to dress to impress for every meeting or event?
For the most part, I trust my instincts, since no one really has the answers to those questions. If I like a trend and think it will look good on me, I’ll give it a try. If I’m heading out to an event, I’ll wear what I feel comfortable with that day. Most often, that means a great pair of jeans or a cute dress, cozy knits and fun accessories.
During the winter months, I almost always like to add a touch of fur to my outfit. This year, I’ve added quite a few furry pieces to my closet. I just can’t say ‘no’ to a teddy bear coat, or faux fur stole. As it turns out, I also couldn’t say no to this hooded faux fur vest from Aritzia.
If you’ve been reading Something About That for a while now, then you already know that I’m a denim lover. Today, I’m wearing my newest pair of jeans, from Fidelity Denim. As a premium denim brand, all of their jeans are made in Los Angeles, with fabrics that are imported from Italy and Japan. Each pair of Fidelity Denim are made by hand, through processes that ensure a beautiful fit and finish. They fit like a glove and though they have a bit of give, they don’t stretch out too much after wear.
