Winter Outfit Staples - Plaid, Cardigan, Oversized Beanie
Photography by Cory

I’m sure this is pretty obvious, but I’m all out of Floridian outfit photos! I hope you enjoy cardigans, boots and beanies, because that’s what you’ll be seeing around here for a while. You know, all of my winter favourites!

Though it had a little bit of a delayed start, winter has most definitely arrived. Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve been experiencing frigid temperatures and the other day, we had our first “real” snow storm of the season.

As much as I hate dealing with the cold and all of the snow, it’s really the lack of sunlight that gets to me at this time of year. It’s depressing to wake up when it’s still dark, and even worse when the sun sets before you get home. The only good part of the short days? Driving into work and enjoying the sunrise. I never get tired of watching the sunrise!

Oh man I seriously debated this week if I should even bother going outside at all for pictures because it was -2C on the day I usually take photos! That said, I do like drinking peppermint mochas from Starbucks while taking a walk through the city. That’s very quintessential winter to me.
Super cute outfit – I am really digging your boots! Also, I LOVE your beanie! :]

Those boots!! Love! The lack of sunlight gets to me too! I hate that it gets dark so early, but at least now it’s getting dark at 5 instead of 4:30!

I want one of those Roots beanies so badly! They look so warm and cozy! I think this outfit is one of those effortless wintry looks- the best kind. I love winter, as you know…but just think how much nicer those hot cups of coffee taste when you’re cold. And how if you’re too lazy to really try underneath, you can just put on a chic coat and fool everyone. And how a beanie is the perfect excuse to cover bad hair days. Does that help a little? 😉

This restaurant-quality dinner at home kiiiinda bl This restaurant-quality dinner at home kiiiinda blew my mind, so it shall live forever on my feed. It was just that good! 😉

These ricotta ravioli were part of the super limited @lapalmato x @jdippolito collab with @bondiproduce. I made some seared chicken breast and roasted asparagus to go with it - both from Bondi and both made next level good because of the sauces from La Palma.

It’s been 14 months and counting since my last in-person visit to a restaurant (lots of takeout), so meals like this are are special.

After so many months of waiting, we finally said goodbye to our little Toronto rental and moved to our new home in Newmarket!

The next week or so will be a state of chaos, as the house isn’t exaaaaaaactly ready yet, but that’s okay - we’re here! 🥰

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)
