When you go out for brunch…do you get dressed up?
Personally, unless I’m going to a fancy restaurant, I keep my brunch outfits quite casual. Then again, I dress casual most of the time. I feel my best in an outfit like this, so that’s usually the type of look that I rock for brunch. That said, with the holidays in full swing, there’s a lot more room to pull out the fancier pieces. Then again, I’d feel ridiculous to show up to brunch in a full sequin dress and pumps. So, what to wear to a holiday brunch?
What to wear to a holiday brunch:
If you follow me on Instagram and watched my story last weekend, you may remember that I went to a holiday brunch. Some of my favourite Toronto bloggers and I got together to celebrate the holidays and exchange Secret Santa gifts. As you can imagine, I wanted to stay true to my style, while still feeling festive. I think that’s a common goal for a lot of us at this time of year, isn’t it?
Personally, I think it’s easy to get dressed for a holiday cocktail party. You wear a pretty dress, throw on a pair of sparkly heels (like the ones I wore here), and maybe even a sequin clutch. If you like to play with makeup, it’s also the perfect excuse to try out some of those crazy colours that you don’t get to wear as often as you’d like. That being said, I’d never show up to brunch in a super sparkly, over-the-top outfit. I mean, I could, but I’d probably feel a little silly.
For this holiday brunch, I based my outfit around a simple shift dress. To make my outfit more fun and festive, I wore my favourite furry black jacket and a statement necklace. I’ve had that jacket for years! I actually wore it two years ago in this post.
P.S: How do you like those hair extensions too?! Ha!
