Well, it’s official. School is back in session and life has returned to ‘normal.’
Even though I don’t get a summer holiday, July and August are always a little bit slower at work, since a lot of people take vacation then. I only took off a few days to travel to PEI earlier in the summer. The bulk of my vacation time is always used during winter, since that’s when I really feel the need to escape!
Still, having the summer off or not, there’s always that feeling of getting back into the swing of life, once school’s back in session.
It’s been quite a few years since I was a student, and while I don’t miss school, I miss that feeling of new beginnings that September always brought.
Now that I’m a working girl, my new beginnings at this time of year are ones that I chose, mainly in my outfit choices. (Okay, I also officially switched the air freshener in my car to my fall staple, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, if that counts.) This means integrating some darker colours and neutrals, as well as other fabrics.
My love for florals is still going strong this season. I picked up a floral blazer for fall the other day, which I can’t wait to wear. I also recently found a floral dress in the “fall arrivals” section of Target, so it was a no brainer that I needed to get it. The cut is fun and summery, but it will work just as well with a chunky sweater, tights, and boots in no time.
What I’m Wearing:
Dress – Target (Same)
Shoes – Sam Edelman (Same)
Necklace – Crafts & Love (Same)
