Wear Now and Later: T-shirt Dress

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 08/16/16

Bench Expertism Dress

I love a good t-shirt dress, and this dress from Bench had my name written all over it. It’s flowy, comfortable, lightweight and has oversized pockets, which makes it fun. This dress is also incredibly versatile and easy to style. I’ve worn it to the office, as well as to run errands. You can dress it up or down, depending on where you’re off to and how you choose to accessorize.

At this time of year, you want to make sure any item of clothing that you buy (especially when you pay full price) can be worn now, as well as into the fall. If you’re getting tired of your summer clothes and want to add a new piece or two into your wardrobe, consider the t-shirt dress.

Whether or not any of us want to admit it, we’re getting closer to the end of the summer. Aside from the fact that the selection of summer clothing is pretty picked over, it seems silly to buy shorts and tank tops, when before we know it, the temperatures will cool down. It makes me sad just typing that, but it’s true! Nonetheless, this is why I love to play with transitional pieces, like the t-shirt dress.

This t-shirt dress from Bench is the perfect transitional piece. It’s stylish enough that on those hot, sticky days, you can throw it on with a cute pair of sandals (similar to this outfit) and head out the door. If you’re heading into the office, add a scarf, since most offices are freezing. Come early fall, try pairing your t-shirt dress with a leather jacket or even a bomber jacket. By adding an extra layer or two, you’ll be able to wear any t-shirt dress well into pumpkin spice latte season. I promise!

In case you’re looking to do a bit of shopping, I’ve rounded up some more t-shirt dresses (all under $100) that you can wear now and later.

I have a slight obsession with t-shirt dresses but I feel there are not enough cute ones out there. Like can we have some that are a bit more feminine somehow? I guess you can jazz it up with accessories like you did, but do you know what I mean? Give me some tulle. Lol. This is my favourite look for Fall though and you look amazing.

So cute!!!! I had a t-shirt dress like this, but it got stained (I really shouldn’t eat messy food), so I’m in need of another one like this! I love that you paired it with a plaid scarf!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
