This Crazy, Beautiful May Week

in Lifestyle on 05/11/13

This week has just been a non-stop whirl wind. If this is a sign of what’s to come during these warmer months, then I’m game.

With the changes at work, I feel like I’m on the go all of the time, which makes you feel at though you can accomplish even more. I still found time to see friends, enjoy the weather, and get in my first softball game of the season.

I took some pictures along the way, as per usual!

The walk to the subway is much brighter these days!

Enjoying my lunch break outside. A picnic with colleagues and sushi is an awesome combination, incase you were wondering.

A quick selfie before a game, and a shot of my favourite ‘baseball’ socks. They’re American Apparel, so while I wear them for ball, I’m not sure they’re actually meant for sports.

Getting away from the gym a little bit more.

Ditching my usual green tea in the morning for iced tea and coffee – my summer staples.

Much needed beer to help power through the last hour of work today. My brain was fried, and that beer hit the spot.

I hope you all enjoy the weekend! 🙂

a beer at the end of the work day is a rare but wonderful treat! And good idea with the work picnics, sounds like a fun way to break up the work day 🙂

The work picnic is much rarer than the beer at the end of the week, but both really help get through the last hump of the week 🙂

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

I love how these little toques (aka: beanies) turned out. I also had a couple extras in a different yarn, so I added string and threw them on the tree!

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
