The Unworn Skirt

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 06/18/14

Yes, I have a bit of an obsession with shopping and fashion and if you’re reading this, you probably do too. People like us are always on the hunt for something new, fresh and exciting to add to our closets.

I always wait until I’m actually going to wear something before I rip the tag off of a new article of clothing. For me, it’s part of the excitement of wearing something new. It needs to feel new in order to complete the experience of “newness.” Do I sound crazy, or are we on the same page here?? (Wait. Don’t answer that).

I’m usually pretty excited to wear anything new, so it’s unusual that I let anything sit with the tags on in the closet for too long. The only exception is when I buy something out of season, which doesn’t happen too often.

However, back in February, I bought a few spring pieces, just before my trip to Punta Cana. I ended up wearing almost everything I bought, except for one skirt. It’s not that I didn’t like the skirt, but it was almost too “nice” to wear down there, since the beach atmosphere is pretty casual.

I really don’t know why, but it was only recently that I finally decided to wear it for the first time. My friend and I were heading downtown to a client’s party, and it just felt like the right occasion. Of course, I had to wear it with those black peep toe booties that I’ve been wearing non-stop (see here and here).

The plan is to wear the skirt more often than every 5 months. I’ll let you know how that goes!

This outfit is really well pulled together, I love the colour combination. The skirt is far too beautiful to only be pulled out once every five months 😛

Love your new header! That skirt is gorgeous. I totally do the tag thing. I probably have three things with tags on them in my closet just waiting. 😉

I totally do that too Jackie! I do not cut off the tag until I wear it. Glad I’m not the only one LOL but you’re right, it just adds to the experience! I’m weird too where sometimes I buy something I really like, I wait to wear it for a special occasion, and then it ends up being a month and I ask myself what in the heck am I waiting for?! Anyways, I am glad you finally brought this skirt out! So girly and pretty. I can see it being a versatile piece for sure! xo

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪
