Well, it’s Monday and that means the craziness of another work week is upon us.
I had a really nice weekend, part of which I spent at a friend’s baby shower. Talk about weird! This is the first of my elementary school friends to be having a baby and because she moved away, it was the first time I’ve seen her pregnant in person. It was fun to see her, and almost as much fun scouring Baby Gap for the cutest gift ever (and Target for gift accessories). Still, it’s totally weird to imagine her with her own baby!
I don’t want to get too “deep” on you all, but it’s just so weird being in your twenties! I feel like all of my friends have something specific “going” for them, that the rest of us don’t quite have yet. I’ve got friends who are happily married, engaged, etc, and then some that are further along in their careers, like I am. None of us seem to have it “all” yet, but here we are, all friends anyway.
None of us have had it totally easy either. For example, one of my friends is currently going through a really tough divorce. She has been married to her soon to be ex-husband since we left college and she told me that she is going to find the transition back into single life really difficult. Getting a divorce must be heartbreaking, however, sometimes it is for the best, particularly if your relationship has turned sour.
Fortunately, my friend has an amazing legal team on her side so her divorce will be handled professionally and efficiently. I just hope she embraces her fresh start. Going through a divorce can give you a chance to reflect on your life and refocus on your ambitions and goals so I will be rooting for my friend at every step of the way.
Anyway, out of my friends, I’ve always been that fashion-obsessed person, too. I guess that’s why I’m the one with the fashion blog, right?
I don’t really know anyone who doesn’t have a good sense of style, but I think I tend to push the envelope a little bit more with how I accessorize, or buy into certain trends. Honestly, a big part of my inspiration comes from the blogging community. For example, my denim vest. I bought this last year, and it’s a little bit retro, I guess, but it’s easily one of the top 10 pieces in my spring/summer wardrobe. You can see it here and here, and I guarantee you’ll see it again this summer. (Side note: Looking back, I love my DSLR camera even more! I’m sure you can spot the difference in photo quality from the old posts)
Today, I’m wearing it during a spring snow storm. No bigs.

For those of you in your twenties…do you find the same pattern amongst your friends?
