Let’s talk about wearing denim on denim, otherwise known as “The Canadian Tuxedo.”
The traditional Canadian Tuxedo is an outfit comprised of ill-fitting blue jeans and an oversized denim jacket. Sometimes, a chambray shirt is worn to complete the look. Think: middle aged man, still rocking his Levi’s from the 1980’s.
Of course, a lot of people take the idea of denim on denim, and put together an outfit that’s trendy, chic and modern, like this. Even though a lot of people have found a way to rock this look, I haven’t found a way to make it work for me…but that’s okay!
Instead, I rock my own take on the style, pairing a jean jacket with grey jeans instead of blue. There’s no reason to “give up” on a trend, or type of look if it doesn’t work exactly as is! What do you think of my version of the Canadian Tuxedo?
