Sunday Best

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 02/03/14

I hope you all had a nice weekend!

Mine was definitely a low-key weekend. With the snow storm we had on Saturday, I wasn’t about to go anywhere I didn’t need to be! After a busy week, I actually really like the occasional weekend like this past one. I know it’s totally cliche, but I feel much more ready for my week now. I know, that feeling fades pretty quickly, doesn’t it?

When I don’t have much to do on the weekend, I find myself putting together the same sloppy, comfortable looks. Leggings, hoodies, Uggs, and a messy bun. I know there’s nothing wrong with that, but it’s not the most exciting way to get dressed.

One of the reasons that I felt my style was worth showcasing on this blog is because I like to put an effort into what I wear on a daily basis. I’m trying to impress myself in the morning, not anyone else. I strongly believe that if you’re excited about getting dressed in the morning, you’ll feel better about yourself. As a result, you’ll feel better about tackling anything your day brings! I know it sounds a bit cheesy, but it’s true.

Somehow, I find that I often forget this concept on the weekend.

Over the last couple of weeks, I’ve really been trying to make more of an effort on the weekend, even when I’m just running a couple of errands.

OUTFIT DETAILS:
Sweater – Madewell // Vest – Gap (a few years old) // Jeans – Mavi // Belt – American Eagle
Necklace – Vintage //  Boots – Roots // Bag – Roots

Do you feel like you put enough “effort” into your low-key weekend outfits?

Totally agree with you on getting dressed up to impress yourself. At the end of the day, your opinion of yourself is the only one that truly matters. That said I think you look amazing! I may have to take a page out of your winter styling book because lately it’s been so hard to look put together when all I want to do is stay at home and out of the cold winter storm.

Love your striped sweater and even more in love with your vest. You look lovely!

      Aww thank you so much!

I’ve really been feeling so uninspired with my winter clothes these days too. What’s helped me recently was cleaning out my sweaters. I didn’t get rid of a whole lot, but by refolding them, I remembered some of the pieces I love…which means it’s almost like finding some new sweaters to mix in with the old!

I’m guilty of giving up on the weekends too. It often results in remorse because my clothes are neglected. I have so many cute casual outfits but the only items that make it out of the closet are my comfy clothes. Great winter look!!

It’s only recent that I’ve looked this presentable on weekends. I think it has to do with the weekdays just being too cold and dark to take photos, so it’s my only chance….and then I discovered, it’s pretty nice to wear something that isn’t gross. LOL

I think you hit the “low key yet dressed up” nail on the head with this outfit. I love the striped top (clicking over to find one now). I try to dress up for the blog pictures as well, but some days, but in the winter, the motivation is just not there most days…

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
