Summertime

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 06/24/14

It’s here, it’s finally here!!

Hands down, summer is my favourite season. I love everything about this time of year. The fashion is fun, the weather is perfect, and the produce is fresh and gorgeous! The season really does fly by, so it’s important to take full advantage of summer while it’s here.

For many of us with full time office jobs, this means we need to make the most out of evenings and weekends. I spent this past Friday night at an outdoor parking lot party. For those of you who are Lee Brice fans, you know why I couldn’t get this song out of my head. It was literally, a parking lot party. My country-hating co-workers may have judged me a bit when I played the song for them that day, but haters gonna hate!

I got up early the next morning and went down to the St. Lawrence Market. It’s one of the largest farmer’s markets in the world, and a big tourist attraction in Toronto. It was a really interesting experience to be in a market that large on a Saturday morning. It was a tough decision, but I decided to buy some raspberries, heirloom tomatoes and figs. I’d never seen raspberries that perfect before! While I was waiting my turn to pay, a chef from a local high end hotel was shopping at the same stand, and he was absolutely loving it. An exact quote from him was “this is why I wake up in the morning!” It was just really awesome to see his excitement for the fresh ingredients, but then again, I’m quite the foodie myself.

Since it was a gorgeous summer day, I felt like a dress was an appropriate outfit choice. I figured if I threw on my trusty denim vest, I’d have myself an outfit. It was the perfect way to transform a dress that would typically work better for the office or an evening function into something more “daytime-friendly.”

Haha you are too darn cute. I would love summer as my favorite season if it wasn’t so darn hot. I do appreciate the colors in the summer more now than before, but I am a fall girl. I love a good jacket weather. Cute outfit as usual. Happy start of summer! Rachel xo http://garaytreasures.wordpress.com/2014/06/24/sunday-dress-eshakti-review/

So adorable! Love that outfit! We had a really amazing Farmer’s Market in Memphis, but it sucks here in Jackson. It makes me so sad because going to the market was one of my favorite Saturday activities! I seriously would go every Saturday!

Love this look for Farmer’s market (or anytime!), and throwing the vest on gives it an extra something! I’m seriously considering getting a denim vest to wear over dresses too 🙂

Great look, as always. I particularly like the bag, it has a very summery look to it, if you know what I mean.

One thing I enjoy about your blog, aside from your wonderfully styled outfits, is your words. It’s hard to explain, but there always feels to be a pep in your words. Is this just me that feels like that?

The local food movement is picking up speed around here, but I think we still have a way’s to go before I can say there’s choice as far as markets are concerned. It’s so exciting to see people shopping local though. I find such a difference!

And that fancy hotel chef sounds amazing haha, it must have been so nice to see someone so excited and happy. I love going to farmer’s markets- I always get ridiculously tempted by all the tasty foods and end up spending waaaay more than I allowed myself. i have no self control ;(

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜
