Something About That

summer essentials (under $25)

summer essentials under $25

SNACK – One // Two // Three

BEACH – One // Two // Three

RUN – One // Two // Three

I’ve rounded up a few of my summer essentials under $25 in a few categories that scream ‘summer’ to me:

FOOD – I’m an advocate of enjoying seasonal flavours. Of course, summer brings a ton of fresh, local produce, but there’s other treats I can’t get enough of…like coconut water. Have you tried coconut water yet? It’s a delicious, refreshing, summer drink, but it also carries a lot of health benefits with it. Along that same line of “tropical”, I’ve been eating key lime greek yogurt with my granola and fruit in the mornings. So good!

BEACH – Flip flops and sunscreen are total no-brainers, right? I also love being able to throw my wallet, sunglasses and anything else into a really big tote bag. I actually forgot to apply sunscreen the other day, and found my ears got a little bit burnt. As you can imagine, I was kicking myself later.

RUN – At this time of year, I don’t like to use the treadmill. It just seems like a waste of sunshine! I like to ensure I have an armband for my phone. Some people like to unplug while they run, but I like to have my phone with me so I can listen to music and track my distance/speed. When I run outside, I tend to sweat more (who doesn’t?), so a good quality hairband is needed to absorb some of that. Lululemon hairbands are a bit expensive, but they have extra material to ensure they stay put while you move.

In addition, it is really important that throughout summer you are drinking plenty of water, especially if you are laying in the sun all day. Making sure your body is hydrated is so important and can help to prevent heatstroke as well as a multitude of other problems. Also, if you have an ice maker at home, then make the most of it! Make every drink deliciously ice cold to save you from the scorching heat of the sun, however, if you do encounter any problems with your ice maker make sure that you get this repaired from services like https:www.EuclidApplianceRepair.com so that you can stay gorgeously cool.

Furthermore, plaster yourself in sunblock, a lot of people think that if you wear sunblock then you won’t tan when this is not true. It is very important to protect yourself from sun damage and stay safe throughout the whole of the summer. Relax and enjoy!
