Spring Trend: Yellow

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 02/23/15

Yellow sweater outfit - sweater from H&M

Well, another Monday is upon us.

The good news? It’s the last Monday in February. That means it’s almost March, which means it’s practically spring.

How do you like that optimism?

Around here, it doesn’t feel like spring is around the corner, but spring collections have taken over just about every store. These collections offer that glimmer of hope that someday soon(ish), it will stop snowing. Because it’s still so cold, most people don’t have an immediate need for shorts or sandals, but there’s always those transitional pieces that we can wear now and later.

I’m usually pretty good at finding pieces that transition well from one season to the next, so I was very excited to find an obnoxiously bright yellow sweater at H&M on a recent shopping trip. It’s warm enough that I can wear it on a cold February day in Toronto. I also felt like it was as perfect as my longline cardigan to bring to my work conference a couple weeks back.

This year’s spring trend: yellow. Yellow is one of the colours for spring 2015. If you don’t believe me, check out Shannon’s post about the trends we’ll be seeing this spring.

You’re absolutely right. The retail & online stores are filled with wonderful spring colors and patterns. I’m very excited. NYC has been hit hard with bad weather. I can’t wait for the buds to bloom.

Loving this knit sweater. Who says you have to wear dark, moody colors in the winter? Not me and certainly not you. You look adorable.

Thank you so much!! I seriously need to pretend it’s warmer, because I’m feeling way too “blah” in my dark winter clothes these days. Hope those buds start blooming soon!

I did not realize this is the last Monday of the month! Wow, it did brighten my day a bit haha. I’m with on how it doesn’t even feel close to Spring. I hope that changes soon. What you are wearing is the perfect transitional look. It has the bright spring color but still cozy to keep you warm!

Definitely appreciate your optimism while we’re experiencing a polar vortex on the east coast…but despite the cold I will definitely be incorporating colors into my wardrobe…perhaps that will attract the sun!

Haha I have the SAME thought process as you- every day I wake up I’m all “k, we’re one day closer to spring”. At this point I’d be ecstatic over 40 degree weather- that way I can only wear *one* coat! And love that poppy yellow sweater!! That would instantly make me feel like spring is just around the corner. I’m so going to start pulling out my mint and pastel sweaters 😉

The colour isn’t one I would go for myself, I steer away from colours a lot, I’m just not brave enough. Having said that, I think the jumper looks great! And cosy! I also really like the muted colours you combined with it.

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)
