Since starting school, I’ve been working the occasional evening and weekend event as a way to make some extra cash. It’s a lot of fun to work in the field and experience events around the city, but it can get exhausting. For example, I worked over 20 hours between Saturday and Sunday this past weekend, which as you can imagine, takes its toll.
When I’m this busy, I don’t get overly creative with my outfits and will typically wear jeans and a t-shirt. If I don’t feel like doing my hair, I’ll throw on a hat. I instantly feel more put together with a hat on, and find it’s the starting point for a chic or sporty look. While I wouldn’t typically define my signature style as ‘sporty,’ I like to play around with that type of style from time to time. Come to think of it, this look was most likely inspired by my last post.
One of my favourite ways to give a sporty edge to an outfit is to wear my NY Jets hat. When I wear this baseball hat, it’s not unusual to get asked about whether or not I’m a fan. The answer is no, I’m not. I bought the hat because I loved the colours and vintage look it had.
I remember being on vacation a few years ago, waiting in line at the bar. A random guy started talking to me about the Jets. I had no idea what he was talking about, because at the time, I didn’t even know they were a football team. Needless to say, the conversation didn’t really last long…
