I know, I know. It’s been like, 100 years since my last actual blog post. Lately, I’ve been a lot more active on Instagram and even on Twitter. On the other hand, I’ve been neglecting this space. Whoops! I have plenty of excuses up my sleeve about why I haven’t posted, but at the end of the day, I just haven’t made it a priority. Yes, I’ve been busy, but my silence has been more about a lack of inspiration than a lack of time.

Can You Believe It’s Been Almost 5 Years?
Over the last few months, I’ve been thinking about doing a bit of a re-brand and/or re-design, but I’m not sure where I want to take things yet. I pressed publish on my first blog post almost 5 years ago – umm holy crap, that’s a long time ago! A lot has changed since then. Back when I started, Instagram wasn’t even a ‘thing.’ I also didn’t worry about SEO, total reach, or anything, really. I’m different than I was 5 years ago, too. My personality, interests and style have evolved. Like, let’s be real, I would NOT wear this outfit today. What was I thinking with those pants? I can assure you, they are long gone.
Spring Break Style
As you probably know if you follow me on Instagram, I was recently in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic for a week. Most of the time, I was a sweaty, frizzy, make-up free mess, but I usually put together a cute outfit for dinner. This was a very simple outfit to wear on vacation, so I figured it would be perfect to share here! Of course you have to take into account where you are going on vacation, if it’s cold, this outfit wouldn’t work. For example I was considering going on a Colorado summer vacation soon, so I could probably use this idea again judging on the likely weather there. But I would have to find something a little warmer to wear on my colder vacations to Canada for example.
Naturally, I did a bit of shopping before the trip. I loved having a reason to shop the new arrivals for spring! This button down top is one of the softest pieces I own, and I love how versatile it is. I wore it unbuttoned here, but it’s cute done up, tucked into a pair of jeans and finished with a bandana. These shorts are from American Eagle and are also incredibly comfortable. They’re great to throw on over a bathing suit and can easily be dressed up or down. You won’t notice in these pictures but I was comfortably wearing one of my One Piece Cheeky Swimsuits underneath all this ready for my time on the beach after the photoshoot!

Happy 5 years of blogging! I’m still blown away how much the blogging industry has changed and how Instagram wasn’t a big deal! I was feel blah about blogging about a month or so and I had to take that break. Glad I did haha! Your outfit looked perfect for Punta Cana. Those shorts are so cute and they look comfortable!

Thanks! I still have about a month to go until the “official” anniversary…but I’m still blown away by how long it’s been. I also can’t ever seem to wrap my head around how quickly things change! It can be pretty crazy sometimes.
