Dressing for Spring with Sanuk Footwear

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 03/30/16

Spring outfit - shift dress, jean jacket and sanuk sandals

Even though it’s still a little bit chilly around here, I spent part of last weekend transitioning my closet from winter to spring. Considering we had an ice storm less than a week ago, it may seem a bit premature, but it felt like the right time to make the switch. I’ve been wearing pastel nail polish and rocking bare legs for a few weeks, so I couldn’t wait any longer!

So, is it too early to be wearing sandals? Maybe, but these sandals from Sanuk Footwear are new and I couldn’t resist taking them out for a spin the other day. I even painted my toes for the occasion. (Yes, for real).

As much as I love shoes (because who doesn’t?), I have a hard time with sandals. For me, they’re actually more challenging to shop for than jeans! Aside from how difficult it is to find anything in a size 5, my feet are quite sensitive. I often feel like I have to spend an arm and a leg to ensure they won’t give me blisters…but even then, there’s no guarantee.

The sandals I’m wearing are the Yoga Gora Gora from Sanuk Footwear. I chose this style for a couple of reasons. First, they looked classic and simple, so I knew they’d be versatile enough to wear with almost anything in my closet. Some of the colours and patterns they offer are too bold for my style, but they have plenty of options for people like me, who love their neutrals. Second, I was intrigued by the fact that they’re made out of the same material as yoga mats. This material is designed to give your feet an elevated state of comfort.

I have always been a huge fan of all things yoga, so when I discovered some shoes that were made out of the same material as a yoga mat, I just had to give them a try. One of my neighbors is a yoga teacher, and when I told her about them on the phone the other day, she was desperate to wear them too! Currently, she is on a yoga teacher training course in Goa, that she found on this website where she is learning all the latest yoga postures and mindfulness techniques, but once she is back home, I cannot wait to see her reaction once she slips her feet into a pair!

I wore these sandals over the weekend while I ran a few errands, and yes – they’re super comfortable! I will definitely be wearing these all summer, and will probably have to order these too.

The weather just seems super indecisive. They’re actually forecasting a Polar Vortex this weekend, so that should be fun…NOT!

Thanks! I’ve had that jacket forever (no joke, probably 7 or 8 years), and I still wear it all of the time. Hard to find, but worth it when you do!

Oh a size 5 would be difficult to shop for! I love how comfortable they look, though, and the lovely pattern on your dress and scarf.

Yeah, it’s hard to find, so usually when I shop for shoes, I don’t have a whole lot to pick from. Not sure if that’s easier or harder?

An ice storm? Yikes! And I can’t believe you’re a size 5 in shoes! I’m a 5.5 and that is not the easiest size to find either. These sandals are so cute on you. And I love your scarf too!

These ricotta ravioli were part of the super limited @lapalmato x @jdippolito collab with @bondiproduce. I made some seared chicken breast and roasted asparagus to go with it - both from Bondi and both made next level good because of the sauces from La Palma.

It’s been 14 months and counting since my last in-person visit to a restaurant (lots of takeout), so meals like this are are special.

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🄳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a šŸ‘µšŸ» anyways)
