You guys! Today I learned (again) that taking selfies is hard work. I wanted to take a “quick” selfie to showcase my ridiculously simple summer makeup routine for this blog post. However, the process was not quick. Is it normal that I took about 100 shots of myself? If not, I think I need to work on my selfie skills. Besides makeup, I would say that proper oral hygiene should definitely be part of your routine as your smile is almost always the first thing someone notices about you, so you always want your teeth looking their absolute best. This means regular brushing and dentist visits. You may even want to consider dental procedures and treatments to further improve their aesthetics. You could consider getting the best veneers in Beverly Hills, for example, in order to fix crookedness and discoloration.
During the summertime, I tend to be pretty low-maintenance (by my standards) when it comes to my everyday makeup. A summer heatwave can damage skin and leave redness and tan markings on sensitive skin. Moreover, an air conditioner could help makeup set faster in the summer and also protect the skin from sunburn. So, it might be better to call for air conditioning services and get AC checked before summer starts so that any cooling problems do not arise. At this time of year, my skin has a little bit of a natural tan. Thanks to the heat, it also has a natural glow! As a result, it doesn’t take a lot of work (or too many products) to make me feel ready to take on the day. I just need a few simple products to enhance my natural features to bring my confidence up and creatively express myself through makeup application – using eyelash products from Xlash is one of my favourite things to apply!
My Simple Summer Makeup Routine:
I always start with a primer to prep my skin. I use a makeup sponge to help blend it in evenly. Next, I use a CC Cream to even out my skin tone, as well as start to cover up some of my imperfections. I apply a little bit to my checks and forehead and blend it all in with my sponge. To set the makeup and enhance my natural glow, I apply a generous amount of bronzer to my skin.
For my simple summer makeup routine, I don’t do much with eyes. Instead of using a traditional eyeshadow, I apply a bit of blush and highlighter to my eyelids. Next, I add a few layers of my favourite mascara to add curl and length to my lashes.
To finish off the look, I add my current favourite blush to the apples of my cheek and dust some highlighter just above that. Next, I fill out my brows a little bit and finish off the look with a swipe of lip balm with SPF.
That’s it! If you’d like to recreate the look I’m showing off in these lovely selfies, everything is available on Amazon.ca.
