The Face Shop White Jewel Peeling Review

I’m about a week and a half into my new job, and so far, things are going well. This week is already flying by, which is a sign that I’ve been busy! I like the fact that there’s a number of different components to my job, which means I’m not spending 40 hours a week at my computer. Yes, I do spend a great deal of my time at a computer, but it’s broken up with meetings and brainstorming sessions.

The only downfall to being so busy is that I have to neglect a couple of my social media accounts during the day. The main account that I can’t really give much love to during the day is Snapchat. No one in my office wants to hear me watching people’s stories, or worse – recording my own! As a result, I watch Snapchat stories when I get home. Some people watch Netflix, but I watch people’s Snapchat stories. I guess that’s kind of the same thing?

As much as I love the beautiful, curated aspect of blogs and Instagram, I’m drawn to that raw, in-the-moment footage that you can only get with Snapchat. I think that’s why a lot of us find it’s such a fun way to connect with people!

The Peeling Scrub – Why I’m Loving It

You might remember that on my stories, I recently talked about this amazing face scrub I was using. The product I’ve been using is the White Jewel Peeling Scrub from THE FACE SHOP.

The brand originated in Korea in 2003, but in the last year or so, has begun to open up stores in a number of Canadian shopping malls. THE FACE SHOP sells high quality makeup and skincare products, all of which are affordable. The stores are well-merchandised and any time I’ve been in, the staff has been helpful and knowledgeable.

How to Use the White Jewel Peeling Scrub From The Face Shop

I’ve been playing around with a few of their products, but since I love the White Jewel Peeling Scrub so much, I wanted to give you the run down.

Before you use the scrub, it’s important that you wash and dry your face.

Once your skin is dry, apply the scrub. The scrub is enriched with pearl powder and it has a slight sheen to it before you apply it. The pearl powder nourishes skin and eliminates dead skin cells that can clog your pores.

All you have to do is massage the scrub into your skin for a minute or two. You’ll know when you’re ready to rinse it off, because it starts to “clump” up a bit as it removes your dead skin.

Once the scrub has completely transformed into this peeling-like state, it’s time to rinse it off!

Immediately after rinsing, your skin will feel smooth and refreshed. While there’s no “right” or “wrong” time to use the scrub, I recommend that you use it at night. My skin gets a little red from being exfoliated, but by morning, it’s back to normal!

I”m so glad to hear that you’re enjoying the new job! Being busy is always a good sign. I’ve been trying out so many skin things lately because winter always dries me out. This stuff looks great!

Ugh, yeah – winter skincare is always a bit of an experiment! Have you found anything that’s been working to keep your skin moisturized?

I love these photos and your face looks so clean. You know when I love to watch Snaps? When I’m on a plane. I download all of them while I still have wi-fi and then just watch all the videos on the plane. Takes up a good amount of time, too.

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
