As you know, one of my tips for how to improve your blog this year is to create more video content. Well, I’m taking my own advice! Some of my favourite videos to watch are makeup tutorials, so I filmed one the other day.
Lately, I’ve been using my Urban Decay Naked3 Palette to create so many different types of looks. It’s one of my newest purchases and I love all of the different ways you can combine the colours. Urban Decay makes beautiful eyeshadows, which are all well-pigmented. It’s just as easy to create a natural, day-time look, or something more dramatic and smokey.
For the most part, I tend to keep my makeup pretty simple. The look I’m sharing in this quick and easy everyday makeup tutorial can be achieved in about 10 minutes. If I want to amp up the look, I’ll add some winged eyeliner and go with a bold lip instead.
I’ll let you in on a little secret though. The reason I didn’t go with the eyeliner for this look is because of my brutal set up. I need a better mirror situation in order to pull off my winged eye liner! Another fun thing that you’ll notice is the blue Post-It note behind my head. I filmed this video using a tripod and had to attempt filming a number of times because I couldn’t figure out where to stand, or how to position the camera. This wasn’t perfect, but the post-it was helpful. Next time, if I use that “trick,” I will remember to remove it once I’m in the right place. Whoops!
Even though this video is far from perfect, I think it’s important to share the learning curve with you.
