Happy Monday…and happy “leap day”!
Do you know anyone celebrating a birthday today? I’ve always thought it was so interesting to hear about leap year babies. I still remember one of my classmates in elementary school, who told me that his grandfather was born on a leap year. It blew my mind to learn that he’d technically only celebrated his birthday 17 times.
Leap year or not, based on the type of weather we’ve been having, it sure doesn’t feel like February. Usually at this time of the year, the ground is still covered in mounds of snow, but as you can see, that’s not the case. We even got up to fifty degrees this weekend!
I’ve been taking advantage of the warmer weather by wearing my plaid coat that I picked up in the fall. Based on the last couple of winters, I didn’t expect to be wearing this plaid coat so late into the season, but I’m glad to get the extra wears in! After all, it’s a lot easier to wear than my down coat.
You can’t go wrong with a great pair of jeans, boots and a plaid coat, so this is an outfit combination that I wear on a regular basis. I’ve had both the jeans and the boots for many years now. Aside from my Classic Uggs, these Frye boots were the first high end pair of shoes I ever purchased. I bought them back when I was in University, probably around 8 years ago. It goes to show that when you invest in quality basics, they’ll last you for years to come!

Even Leo said it — climate change is real! Snow or no snow, I still really love this big coat on you, and that beautiful necklace too.

I’ve always been fascinated by leap years too! I don’t know anyone whose birthday is on this day. I’m not complaining that it feels more like April than February! That coat is awesome!

Funny you have the story about someone’s grandpa – I remember my 7th grade science partner’s dad is born today. I bet he would be creeped out if I knew that! Love this look on you, Jackie! Hope you enjoyed your extra day!

My 5th grade teachers older sister was born on leap year. I think when I was in 5th grade she had only had 9 birthdays. So crazy! Also, love your coat!
