pinterest success: orange ricotta chocolate chip muffins

in Food & Drink on 04/08/15

One of my favourite things to do on my phone (second to Instagram) is to read funny articles. I tend to be drawn to lists and visuals, so Buzzfeed is my go-to. I’m convinced that it’s impossible to read any article on Buzzfeed without cracking a laugh or smile.

I remember coming across this post a long time ago. I read it while I was on the bus, heading into work. As I scrolled through the post, I couldn’t help but laugh out loud (seriously though, #28 is gold)! It was a little bit awkward, because I was travelling alone.  Of course, it didn’t take long to notice a few stares from other bus riders, which made me laugh harder.

Personally, I’ve never had any noteworthy Pinterest fails. Most of the projects and recipes I’ve tried have been very successful, so I can’t help but wonder if these monstrosities are all for show.

My most recent Pinterest success occurred in the kitchen. I made orange ricotta muffins that I pinned here. The recipe is from Two Peas and Their Pod, so I had a feeling they’d be delicious and easy to replicate. The muffins were delicious, flavourful, moist, and did I mention they were delicious?

Feel free to use this post as Pinspiration of your own…or just enjoy the foodporn.

I’m always surfing Pinterest for recipes! These sounds so amazing! The glaze on top probably totally makes them! Definitely want to try these! Yum!

You should definitely pin the recipe and give it a try.

The glaze totally takes these to the next level, but the ricotta makes the cake itself such a great texture.

That’s why I wonder if those fails are legit or not. Regardless, I love a good Buzzfeed laugh.

Mhmmm these look AMAZING! I haven’t really had too many Pinterest fails, but their was one cookie recipe that I SWEAR was just a flat-out lie. I consider myself a cookie connoisseur and followed the recipe exactly, but they came out looking like turds ;).

Anything with a glaze sounds so yummy. I haven’t had any major fails. There have been some projects that just didn’t turn out quite right. I don’t have a ton of time to attempt pinterest stuff anymore. It’s sad.

I feel like I say that about TV. I don’t know how people find the time to binge watch anything….but I’m definitely not the norm there.

This is the second recipe I’ve seen this week that incorporated oranges into baking goods. I never thought to use oranges before but this looks amazing.

I probably wouldn’t have thought of it on my own, but if lemon cake is a “thing”, why not oranges?

I’ve tried a couple things from Pinterest and they didn’t fail either. But nothing that I’ve done was ever too extreme. I kept it simple so as not to fail, lol. But I really think you knocked it out of the park with these muffins. They look uber delish!

Maybe I haven’t tried anything “crazy” either, but I know my limits 😉

Pinterest fails always cracks me up! Some of them are just so horrible that I agree, they cannot be real! Those muffins look delicious though, definitely not a fail!
