It’s one week until my birthday, and despite what my birth certificate may tell you, I’m tottttally turning 22. Okay, maybe not…but hey, I got carded at an event last night, so I fooled someone!
It’s funny, but when I was in my teens and early twenties, I didn’t really care a whole lot about my skincare routine (or lack thereof). While I washed my face at night, I didn’t do much else to take care of my skin. Moisturize? Naw, I wasn’t interested.
Fast forward a few years and I have a completely different mentality about skincare. Somewhere around the age of 25, something happens and a lot of us have that “ah-ha” moment, where we realize it’s important to start taking better care of ourselves if we want to preserve our youth. Luckily excellent make up can help cover any shortcomings. I hear that Chanel Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzer is very natural but still defines your bone structure very well. So that will be very helpful! This is about the time that you start noticing that you have fine lines and sunspots, especially if you were rebellious as a teenager and avoided sunscreen. (Yes, I was dumb).
I’m still playing around with different products and routines, but I do seem to have found a few holy grail products that work for me! That being said, I am always open to trying anything new. For instance, one of my friends has told me to take a look at some of the gorgeous skincare products on the VCI shop website. I love shopping for skincare, so I will definitely be taking a look to see if I can find anything that catches my eye. Anyway, for the last couple of months, I’ve been using a few key products to keep my skin feeling moisturized and smooth before I go to sleep. PSST – sleep is another trick to keeping your skin its best!
Here’s what I’ve been using lately:
Makeup Remover – This is a no-brainer, but after a long day or late night, it can feel like a chore to take off your makeup. On nights that I fall asleep before taking off my makeup, I wake up feeling gross the next morning…so just DO IT! As far as specific products are concerned, I’ve been using the Bioderma makeup-removing wipes and the Bioderma make-up removing solution. Both do a fantastic job of taking off all of my makeup, but for a lazy girl, the wipes are definitely the way to go. They require minimal effort to use…and they smell nice, too. Bonus!
Face Wash – I’ll be honest, I don’t have a particular favourite right now, so I’ve been using an assortment of different products. Once I find one that I’m excited about, I’ll be sure to share!
Hydrating Serum – Right now, I’m using the Bioderma Hydrabio Serum, and it’s a game changer for me. It instantly helps to make my skin feel smooth and moisturized, even as the temperatures drop. The reason it works so well is that it works to retrain your skin by activating its natural moisturizing capacities by stimulating the production of water channels in the skin. The serum absorbs quickly into my skin and doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy, like some serums tend to do. I’ve tried to really improve on my skincare lately and I am quite proud of myself. When you are trying new products, it can take a few days/weeks to be able to notice results. I know this feeling, as I have recently started adding tea tree oil after applying my serum and before I add my moisturiser. If I wasn’t recommended to look into finding Tea Tree Oil Online, I don’t think that I would even have thought about doing this step. Or maybe I would have, but later on down the line. Your skincare routine doesn’t have to be extensive, but as long as you are using products that work for you, that’s all that matters.
Moisturizer – I have a few that I rotate between, but lately, I’ve been using the Bioderma Sensibio Tolerance cream. It’s a gentle formula, which works to sooth and regulate your skin.
