New Year, New Chapter

Happy New Year and welcome to the very first post of 2016!

For a lot of people, today is the first day back to the grind after time off during the holiday season. It can be a bit depressing to get back into your regular routine and very difficult to wake up early again, but within a day or two, it gets easier. On the other hand, I’m happy to report that even though it’s been a while since I’ve had to wake up before sunrise, it wasn’t that bad. The reason? Today is my first day at my new job, so I’m excited! I can’t wait to start this new chapter of my life. Starting a new job is always scary, but it’s a necessity in life. To have a well-paid job you have to get through the difficult parts; Upskilled reported the highest paying jobs, and all of these are strenous and difficult, so starting should feel like a breeze to me! I was so excited when I recieved the news that my application was successful. I had spent a lot of time on my application and even went to the Interview Skills Clinic for some interview training, so I’m glad it was all worth it. One of the things I’m looking forward to most is getting back into a proper routine.

I thrive off a regular routine and predictable schedule, so one of the parts of starting a new job that makes me nervous is that I’ll have to adjust to a new schedule. Once the novelty wears off, I’ll have to re-train myself to wake up early, make lunches, and deal with the commute, but it’s okay! These are things I need in my life right now. If you know someone who is also starting a new job and you want to buy them a gift but you’re not sure what to get, then you should take a look at Custom Personalized BobbleHeads Dolls for their desk. It’s guaranteed to make them laugh!

So, whether or not you’re starting something new today, or heading back into your familiar office to catch up with longtime colleagues…I hope you all have a happy Monday!

I’m jealous of myself! That photo wasn’t even taken that long ago…but today was the coldest in Toronto since FEBRUARY, so I was bundled up. *sigh*

lol I needed like a whole coffee house to get me out of bed this morning. Also, I have to agree with others, jealous of your short skirt and your warm weather. Congrats on your new job though, such a great way to start the year.

I’m jealous of the warm weather now too! Today was so cold out in Toronto that it was painful. It’s easy to forget the warmth when it’s -10!

Best of luck with your first day! It is definitely a little scary to think about adjusting to a new routine, but you’ll be right into the swing of things in no time. LOVE this little denim skirt!

I’m sure I’ll have a much harder time getting up tomorrow than today…but I think a lot of us are happy to have a routine again (even if we are also grumpy about it) 😉

    great outfit.
It’s so ironic for me that the return to “life” after the holiday season is such a drag. I actually like the routine of life, but something about returning to the mundane things of life after the holidays seems so blah. haha. Very ironic to me.

Happy 2016, Jackie! The magic of the holidays has disappeared and life has set back in! It’s exciting for me so far because good things are happening already. Looking forward to a great 2016! I feel the same about routines. It’s not always easy getting adjusted to a new routine and a new job, but sometimes change is really what you need! In the long run, it’s always worth it.
