The last few weeks have completely escaped me, which is why I’m only just now sharing photos from my trip to Montreal. The trip was in October (basically a million years ago), but I really love how these photos turned out. I guess it’s better late than never!
One of Matt’s friends from high school eloped back in May and decided to host a small wedding reception in Montreal to celebrate with friends. I was especially excited, because it gave us the perfect excuse for a little road trip! We didn’t have a ton of time in the city, but we definitely made the most of it. My main priority for the trip was to eat Montreal-style bagels and authentic poutine at some point during the weekend. I’m happy to report that we not only ate bagels and poutine, but we also had an incredible Montreal-smoked meat sandwich.
In hindsight, we didn’t make the healthiest choices, but hey – when in Rome!

Since I knew we’d be doing a lot of walking (and eating), I made sure to pack comfortable, casual clothes for the trip.
The jeans I brought (last seen here) are almost as comfortable as yoga pants. They’re perfect for travel because they’re super stretchy and soft. I almost always bring a hat or two with me when I travel, since my hair doesn’t always co-operate with a change in water. Lastly, I threw on one of my favourite flannel button down shirts and a lightweight blanket scarf. Mixing two different kinds of plaid wasn’t my original intention, but I liked how it all came together. The only part of the outfit that didn’t work for me was the choice of socks. Did you notice those bad boys peeking through? No? Well, I’ll bet you do now!
