Military Vest and a Pop of Pink

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 05/05/16

Gentle Fawn Military Vest, Pink Sweater and Denim Shorts from Lemonberry Boutique

Happy Thursday, friends! I can’t believe that tomorrow is already Friday and that I’m kicking off my softball season. It’s supposed to be a gorgeous, warm day, so as far as I’m concerned…it’s basically summer.

Since I’ve got summer on the mind, today I’m sharing my third (and final) look that I shot with Lemonberry. (In case you missed it, you can see look 1 here and look 2 here). Despite the frigid temperatures and actual snow flurries we dealt with that day, it was a spring shoot…and I dressed the part! Yes, that’s right – I styled a pair of shorts…in the snow. What can I say? I’m a Canadian blogger, so I’ve dealt with worse!

To go with the shorts, I pulled an unbelievably soft, lightweight sweater. It’s the type of sweater that you just want to live in because it’s so soft. Since I love to layer, I added the military vest, which gave the final outfit a little more interest and edginess. To complete the look, I added some fun accessories, including a Matt and Nat bag that can be worn as a clutch or cross-body purse. One piece, two ways? Yes, please!

What a trooper you are, doing a spring shoot in the snow!! I remember seeing your snaps from that day too!
I seriously love every single part of this look! The shorts, the sweater, the vest, the clutch! The color and texture mixing is executed flawlessly, as usual!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

I love how these little toques (aka: beanies) turned out. I also had a couple extras in a different yarn, so I added string and threw them on the tree!

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
