Happy Hump Day!

I can’t believe it’s already Wednesday. This week has been flying by, as most weeks do, but the holiday Monday has thrown me off a bit.

This weekend was more low-key than some of the other weekends I’ve had this summer. I mean, it’s not like I jumped into any mud rivers in the last couple of days. What I did do was spend a lot of time enjoying meals with friends, and lounging in the sun. A perfect summer weekend, if you ask me.


Somehow, I always find myself at some sort of mall or store over the course of a weekend, and this was no exception. This week, Target had my name on it. I didn’t really go for anything specific, but I can tell you that it was a successful trip.

I always like to check out the clothes, and they had a ton of great deals on summery pieces. At this point in the season, I’m trying to keep my eye out for pieces that I can see working well for the ‘transitional’ season, so I was more interested in the newer pieces.

I’ve been wanting to try the hi-low skirt trend recently. I’m not sure why I was drawn to this style, because it’s a bit strange, but there was something about it telling me to try it on. When I try a new trend, especially one that I’m not sure about, I don’t like it to be a huge investment. This one was perfect. I wasn’t completely sure how to style it, but I put together a simple outfit that I wore to brunch with my friends.
