What To Bring To Long Weekend Fireworks + An Exciting Announcement

in Lifestyle on 05/18/17

Jackie Goldhar is a lifestyle and fashion blogger from Toronto, and she's announcing her new partnership with the Amazon Associates Program

Whether you know me in person or not, it’s probably obvious that I love shopping. I frequently visit local malls and boutiques, but I also spend a lot of time online shopping. While I obviously enjoy shopping for myself, I also like to help other people shop. It’s probably why I loved (and miss) working in retail so much! It makes me so happy when someone tells me they purchased something that I’ve recommended on my blog or Instagram.

In the past, I used to avoid online shopping, but over the years, I’ve gotten a lot better at it. I attribute that to a combination of better selection on online retailers…and better hunting skills. I have a knack for finding the best of the best online. Why? Well – I spend a lot of time doing my research. You’re welcome 😉

Toronto lifestyle and fashion blogger, Jackie of Something About That is sharing her partnership with the Amazon Associates Program and some of her Amazon picks

This is why I’m thrilled to announce my new partnership with Amazon.ca! Yes, the Amazon!!! For the rest of 2017, I’m officially part of the Amazon Associates Program. What does that mean? Essentially, I’ll be curating some of my favourite picks from Amazon.ca and sharing them with you.

A lot of people think Amazon is just a place to shop for electronics, books, and deals on photography equipment. Of course, it’s great for all of those things (that’s where I buy most of my photography equipment), but if that’s all you’re shopping for on Amazon, you’re missing out! They offer a huge selection of women’s clothing, accessories, luxury beauty products, shoes, handbags and so much more. It’s endless, really.

With the Victoria Day long weekend coming up (yay!!), I thought a fun way to kick off my partnership with the Amazon Associates Program would be to share some of my long weekend essentials. I’m not planning to go out of town, but I am hoping to make it to one of the local fireworks displays.

Now, onto what to wear (and bring) to the show:

Canadian lifestyle and fashion blogger, Jackie of Something About That, is sharing her picks for the long weekend fireworks as a part of the Amazon Associates Program

1. Cable Knit Cardigan | 2. 7 For All Mankind Skinny Jeans | 3. Kate Spade Wallet | 4. Picnic Blanket | 5.Hershel Supply Co. Backpack |  6. Hershey’s Cookies and Cream Trail Mix | 7. Knit Beanie with Pom Pom | 8. S’well Stainless Steel Water Bottle in Marble | 9. Cozy Blanket Scarf | 10. 5000mAh Portable Phone Charger and Amazon Basics Apple Certified Lightning to USB Cable | 11. Soludos Espadrille Sandals | 12. Adidas Women’s Original Superstar Sneakers | 13. NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream

What To Wear (and Bring) To Long Weekend Fireworks:

A Cute, Cozy Outfit – Even when the days are hot, at this time of year, it can get cold at night. Make sure to bring a sweater and a blanket scarf, so you can bundle up when it gets cold. It’s also important to wear comfortable shoes, because the odds are, you’ll have to park quite far from the fireworks. I love my Soludos, but as far as comfort is concerned, Adidas Superstars definitely win.

Snacks – This is a given, right? You can’t spend a night outside without having something to munch on. FYI – Amazon also sells food and their selection of snacks is insane.

Picnic Blanket – These are the best! If you buy one thing from Amazon today, make it a picnic blanket! The top of the blanket is soft for sitting on, but the bottom has a protective layer to keep you dry from the wet grass. I wouldn’t have survived all of my concerts with lawn seats if not for these blankets.

Phone Charger – If your phone dies partway through the night, how else with you Insta Story the fireworks?

A Bag To Pack Everything In – Since you’ll have so much stuff to carry, it’s only logical that you need a bag. I love my Hershel Supply Co. Backpack and bring it with me anytime I need something more substantial than a purse.

Thank you to Amazon.ca for partnering with me on this post. I’m so excited to share more with you soon!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

I love how these little toques (aka: beanies) turned out. I also had a couple extras in a different yarn, so I added string and threw them on the tree!

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
