Long-line cardigans

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 02/22/16

Longline cardigan - winter fashion

Last weekend, I went to the mall to do a little bit of shopping for work. Yes, I wanted treat myself to a little “something” for landing the job, but mainly, I needed a few work-appropriate pieces to add to my wardrobe. My first stop was Aritzia, where I zoned in on winter clearance, since I was hunting for pieces to wear now. I didn’t expect to find much this late into the season, but lo and behold, they had a lot to choose from…and it was organized by colour, which was basically the best thing ever. I picked up a great pair of pants for the office, a new blazer…and this long-line cardigan.

Cardigans are a staple in my wardrobe, but it’s only recently that I’ve added long-line cardigans into my collection. Long-line cardigans add an edgy spin to your outfit and help to achieve that “model off-duty” vibe. I’ve come to realize that playing with proportions is a simple way to push your style to new boundaries.

If you’re petite like I am and looking to add a long-line cardigan into your wardrobe, I recommend you throw on a pair of heels to complete the outfit. Otherwise, you may look like you’re drowning a little bit!

I totally agree. For us petite girls, a heel is key when it comes to wearing the longer cardis. Love this one on you!

I wasn’t really “looking” for a cardigan like this one, but I’d been liking them lately too, so I figured it just made sense to pick one up.

I so wish there was an Aritizia in DC. They have the cutest stuff! I suppose I could order online but shopping in a store is so fun sometimes! Love your cardigan here! I’m also petite and the problem I have with long-line cardigans is their length, like you mentioned. Throwing on a pair of heels seems to be the perfect solution!

Hope the new job is going well!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
