Life, lately - Inspiration for Organizing winter sweaters

After a nice week away in Punta Cana, it’s a bit of a downer to be back in the office. My mind is still operating on ‘beach time,’ but my growing to-do list at work is telling me to snap out of it. At least it’s Friday, right?

Even though I’m feeling refreshed, I’m looking forward to the weekend to catch up on a few personal to-do’s. I’ve recently fallen off the fitness wagon, and after all of that resort food (ie: carb overload!!), now’s as good a time as any to get back at it. In addition to getting in a workout, I need to ensure I make the time to get some healthy lunch ideas ready for next week.

I’ll be back next week to share some of my vacation-ready outfits, but for now, here’s a few snap shots of what was inspiring me prior to jet setting to the Caribbean. This is life, lately, if you will!

– organizing my winter sweaters to keep them appealing throughout this last stretch of winter
– discovering and learning about the art of hand lettering (more on this another time)
– surrounding myself with flowers to help brighten up otherwise dull spaces
– some new beauty favourites that have become instant essentials in my makeup routine
– gearing for spring with my nail polish choices these days

I’m so happy that you discovered hand lettering through that class. I found it through an Instagram friend, so it’s only fair to share the hobby around 🙂

The sweater photo makes us want to crawl back into bed. We’ve been finding some serious street style inspiration recently that’s been helping us take pieces and wear them differently. And instagram is always our favorite place to turn for some original inspiration. Loved this post!

Umm, next time take me with you? LOL! I love the cold days, but if I have to be warm or hot, I prefer to be on a beach. I’ve been hoping for a tropical vacation for years. Just gonna sit here and live vicariously through you for a moment…

Glad you had a great vacation, you little travel addict! 🙂

HAHA I know, I’m a total warm weather fiend. I basically don’t travel during the warmer months and save it all for winter 😉

Your photos are BEAUTIFUL!! I could sit and just stare at them. Especially the picture of the Naked3 palette. So pretty!

Sounds like you really had a wonderful time away. I know what you mean — whenever I return it’s SO hard to get back into the grind of things. Especially having to start the day earlier than I do when on vacation (I mean, who sets an alarm when they’re on vacation, right?!) But there is also a part of me that’s glad to be back home, too. I’m a big home-body, so I can be totally content and happy just remaining at home, doing what I love (blogging!), all day long. 🙂

Anywho, I am rambling! To answer your question…I get so inspired when I pull out my eyeshadow palettes. I just love creating eye looks — and I often base my entire outfit/face on how I do my eyes. Totally backwards, I know, but I just have SO much fun when I open up my palettes. 🙂

Thank you so much!! Photography is a work in progress for me, but it’s something I’m really loving to play around with.

I’m totally a big home body as well. A night of blogging is the perfect night for me a lot of the time (though I obviously go out too).

I love playing up eye makeup too. It’s like a blank canvas, don’t you think?

I’ve only discovered highlighting. I’m not sure how to contour (nor do I have any products), but I will be working on that.

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
