A “Groundbreaking” Style Post: A Typical Outfit For Me

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 05/30/17

Sitting by the train tracks in Unionville, Ontario I’m not sure if it was because of the long weekend, but last week was pretty quiet. I didn’t have any events to attend, nor did I have any pressing deadlines that had to be met. I won’t lie though; it was actually very nice! I need those quiet days to recharge my batteries, especially because this week is shaping up to be a busy one.

Toronto-based lifestyle and fashion blogger is sharing a typical go-to spring outfit

This week began with another epic blogger brunch to celebrate Nick’s birthday. It’s always so much fun to be in the same room as so many other inspiring, creative, and motivated people. There were lot of familiar faces, but also a lot of new ones that I haven’t met before. I love that Toronto is full of so many amazing content creators and bloggers. Is every city like that, or are we just especially lucky?

Jackie at Something About That is a blogger from north of Toronto and she spent some time exploring Markham and historic Main Street Unionville

Last week, Matt and I decided to take a walk through Main Street Unionville and naturally, we brought the camera along. We took a ton of photos, and as you can probably tell, I had a hard time narrowing them down. Whoops!

The shoot was just for fun and I love how the photos turned out. Lately, I’ve been trying to get back to my blogging roots and create more content just for fun. I know there’s a ton of bloggers who only share sponsored content, but I find that a bit annoying. Obviously, we all need to pay our bills, but it’s about balance. Quality over quantity.

If you’re a blogger, remember that if everything you post is sponsored, you’ll never build trust with your readers.

This shoot wasn’t part of any specific campaign, nor was I trying to highlight anything specific about this outfit. (Okay, the bag was gifted, but I’ve been using it non-stop and you’ve seen it in many of my recent posts.)

If this outfit looks familiar, it’s because you’ve seen me wear all of these pieces before. I’ve worn the utility jacket in other posts (like this one). You’ve seen me wear the jeans before too. Remember this post? In my opinion, what makes this outfit fun and “blogger-ish” is the addition of the necktie. But, guess what? You’ve seen the necktie before too! I wore it in this post last summer!

Nice keep-it-real post, Jackie! Sometimes we just feel the prettiest when most comfy, regardless of whether we’ve worn the outfit a hundred times! It’s hard to find that balance though, between originality and staying true to ourselves when blogging 😛 Loving these beautiful pictures and how happy you seem

It’s definitely a tough balance, but do-able at the same time. I’m so happy to hear that the post resonated with you Saida. Have a wonderful week!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
