Floral Blazer, Because Floral

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 09/22/14

Is it bad that I’m just not a big fan of blazers?

Don’t get me wrong, I know there’s few things more classic than a great blazer, especially in the fall. They’re so versatile, and can dress up almost any outfit, with minimal effort.

I have a couple of blazers that I’ve accumulated over the years, and as much as I love them, I just feel as though they’re not really “me.” My personal style is a bit more casual, so I prefer to wear cardigans or my leather jacket when I add a layer onto an outfit. I also don’t find blazers comfortable, since they’re quite refining and stiff.

Of course, I’m not a complete hater, especially since I found a great blazer a few weeks ago. This blazer is softer and less structured than most other styles…and it’s floral.

Yes, florals. Again. So sue me!

A floral blazer is clearly different than a floral dress or tank. If you disagree, then you’re probably not a shopoholic 🙂

What I’m Wearing:

Blazer – H&M (Similar)

Top – Free People via Hudson’s Bay (Similar)

Pants – Gap (Similar, Similar)

Bag – Gap (Similar, Similar)

Necklace – Street Vendor In Punta Cana (Similar)

Shoes – Wishbone via Brown’s Shoes (Similar)

Are you a “blazer person”?

I am totally a blazer person. I have really broad shoulders so I find that they flatter me way more than cardigans. My big shoulders prefer the structure!

You look great in this blazer 🙂

I think they look great on people, and cardigans just don’t always cut it. It would explain a lot though, since I have very small shoulder!

That’s why I love this blazer so much. It’s very unstructured.

You could totally achieve the wavy curls – it’s all in the curling iron technique!

You know, I felt the same way about blazers. I was never a big fan until I found a particular style that fit me great and then I was hooked and bought it in three colors! Lol… This floral one looks great on you. And I am loving your necklace!

I’m a blazer person, but that’s because I feel like they give things a more polished feel than cardigans do. But I definitely get what you mean about feeling stuffy. I started off the day with a blazer, but it was too tight for the shirt I was wearing under it, so I took it off before I even sat down in my office. I think this floral one looks great on you though! Maybe boyfriend blazers would be more up your alley?

I definitely feel the same way you do! I’m really not fan of blazers…I can never make them look quite right, and much like yourself, I prefer something more casual to layer with. But I can see why you opted for this blazer–the print is so much fun, and the shape looks ultra comfortable! I love how you’ve styled it! Here’s to hoping I find a blazer of my dreams on day!

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog and leaving some sweet words! It completely made my day. I love your blog!!
