Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!
Now that we’re into October, fall is in full swing. Around here, the leaves are looking gorgeous in all shades of yellow, orange and red. It’s the makings of photographic perfection and I will never tire of seeing shots of the trees take over my Instagram feed. Keep em’ coming!
With the cooler weather upon up, there’s certain changes that I like to make to my beauty routine, so I feel (almost) as photographic as those leaves.
Here’s a few of my picks for fall, which are all available at Shopper’s Drug Mart (Canadian drug store), but many of these products are available at Sephora if you’re in the US.
This is a beauty staple for me, all year round. At this time of year, I love that it keeps my skin feeling moisturized, and that it adds a bit of colour my summer tan disappears. I’ve tried a number of different BB and CC creams, and hands down, this one is my favourite. It goes on smooth and absorbs quickly. I also find that it’s long-lasting, which is key!
When the seasons change, I like to switch up my signature fragrance. The issue is that I have a hard time finding a scent that I love, since many of them make me nauseous after a while. I’m not sure if that happens to anyone else, but it’s been an issue of mine for my whole life. Anyhow, I ended up choosing this one because it was a nice, light scent (and the packaging is just stunning). #basic
Over the last few months, I’ve really become a fan of lipstick, rather than lipgloss. I love the more bold look, especially since I tend to go lighter on the eye makeup. This particular lipstick is a matte and it’s a deep, rich colour. It’s a unique texture and doesn’t get on your teeth as easily as traditional lipstick does. Seriously, this is always and issue for me!
In the colder months, I like more of a lighter blush, with a little bit of sheen. This one goes on really smoothly, and adds that really nice, subtle glow as my summer tan fades away. I find it’s a really good daytime blush, but for the evening, I find it isn’t dramatic enough.
This is a great product that I’ve been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to review. I was excited to try it out, since it claims to increase skin moisture content by 11% in just 12 hours. I have chronically dry hands, especially once the cold weather sets in. I’ve tried many, many hand creams and really haven’t found any of them really help to keep my skin moisturized.
I must say, this cream is incredible!! It’s a little bit pricey at about $20 a bottle, but it’s completely worth it. They claim that there will be visible results in 11 days, but I noticed a change right away. If you have dry skin, I highly recommend you give this a try!
