Oh, winter in Canada. You are not kind to us (arguably) crazy bloggers, who insist upon shooting outfit photos outdoors. Despite my recent trip to Florida, I couldn’t avoid winter photo shoots forever. After all, winter is a long season and there are plenty of outfits that need to be documented.
Sure enough, the other day, I went out for brunch… and my outfit was cute. My first thought when I put together a cute outfit is always: “This looks needs to go on the blog!”
Thankfully, my brunch plans were with other bloggers and Rebeca from Wishbone and Clover mentioned that she wanted to shoot her look as well. Perfect. I had my photographer. Alas, after we enjoyed our delicious meal, we ventured outside into the wind tunnel that is Downtown Toronto.
Both my furry sherpa jacket and sneakers are new additions to my closet. I normally have this weird thing, where I only “allow” myself to wear one new piece at a time. The logic behind that is twofold. First of all, I like to enjoy having new things as long as possible, so by wearing one piece at a time, I can spread that experience out a little longer. Second, I don’t want to take away the “specialness” of any particular piece on its first wearing. Does that make sense, or do you think I’m nuts? Either way, it’s how my mind works.
For whatever reason, I couldn’t help but wear two new pieces that day. It was a pretty frigid morning, so I wanted to be cozy. I went for the jacket because it’s one of the softest pieces of clothing that I’ve ever owned. It feels like you’re wearing a blanket. Totally perfect.
As for the shoes, they’re part of the ECCO Live in Colour Collection and I’m wearing the Soft 3 High Top sneakers in Concrete. I’m aware that “concrete” isn’t exactly colourful, but this same style is also available in red, yellow, blue, and black. Personally, I don’t wear a lot of bright colours, but if you do, you need to check out those bright colours! No matter the colour, made of a combination of leather and a beautiful woven mesh fabric, the Soft 3 High Tops are a little bit sporty and a little bit edgy.
Because I already own the ECCO Ukiuk boots, I had a hunch that the Soft 3 High Top sneakers would be just as comfortable. I wasn’t sure how far of a walk I’d have from the parking lot, so I wanted to wear shoes that would be kind to my feet. And yes, I was correct. The ECCO Soft 3 High Tops are super comfortable and offer great support for your feet.
Oh and if you’re wondering, it was even a bit too cold for us, so we finished our shoot back indoors. #RealLife #CanadianProblems
Thank you for ECCO Shoes for sponsoring this post. As always, my opinions are honest and my own.
