It’s no wonder that people feel a little bit down in the dumps at this time of the year. Aside from the fact that the holidays are over, the weather has been so depressing lately! Does anyone else feel like they haven’t seen the sun in weeks? So many dark, gloomy days in a row can get you down. I’m tired of everything looking dreary and gross, but I also can’t stand what the weather has been doing to my hair. My hair does not react well to the drizzly conditions!

Aside from the weather and lack of fun holidays, there’s so many other reasons that January is a tough month.
We don’t have any long weekends (at least, not in Canada).
We’re trying to eat healthier.
Credit card bills start rolling in.
It feels like everyone else is going on vacation.
Tax season is coming up.
Spring is still two months away.
Work is starting to get stressful again, post-holiday bliss.
…Whatever the reason(s), the list goes on.
So, how can you shake away those January blahs? Well, you can start by being nice to people. Be generous with (genuine) compliments!
Last weekend, I wore this exact outfit to the mall and received multiple compliments from strangers about my outfit. No, they didn’t know me, nor have they ever seen my blog. It was just random people who said they loved my fuzzy pink cardigan and thought my belt was gorgeous. The compliments made me feel so good about myself!
I received this beautiful Chicwish fuzzy pink cardigan at the same time as my tiered sleeve sweater. I only recently got around to wearing it for the first time, but it’s become an instant favourite. It was the beautiful blush pink fuzzy fabric that caught my attention and the oversized pockets that sold me.
The leopard print clutch and the double buckle belt are both from BRAVE Leather. I discovered them when I won this bag in a giveaway on Instagram. Ever since, I’ve been a huge fan and often swoon over their pieces via Instagram. Their leather goods are not only beautiful, but they’re all made in Toronto. Each piece is made to order, so the only downside is that it can take a bit of time to receive your order. Honestly though, it was worth the wait!
Today, I challenge you to compliment a stranger! You might just make someone’s day 🙂
