Another day, another snow storm. We were hit with a blast of winter weather today. What else is new?
I’ve actually lost count of just how many times we’ve been under a “storm watch” of some kind this winter.
The blustery conditions made for an extra long commute into work this morning with good old fashioned bumper to bumper traffic. If I wasn’t so stubborn, I would have worked from home.
Extreme weather can cause so much havoc! Also, when you live somewhere like I do where frequent snow storms are a given, you have to take as many steps as possible to protect your home. Whether that’s getting tree removal to protect your property from falling trees, shovelling your drive every day to make sure you can get out, listening to weather updates, or anything else – every little helps! I was talking to my friend about this just the other day. She lives in Alaska so the majority of her days are spent trying to make sure that she does not get snowed in! She is constantly experiencing power cuts and has issues with her electrics, so I’ve suggested she learn more about SALT Light & Electric to get a good idea of the sort of electrician she should be using to ensure her house is safe after each storm.
Although there is only so much you can do to protect your home from the elements, taking out home insurance is crucial. That being said, no one wants to pay too much for their home insurance, and therefore comparing some of the different insurers out there can help you to find the best coverage for your property. Not sure where to start your search? Why not check out https://homeownersinsurancecover.net/alaska/. My friend told me that she managed to make quite a substantial saving on her home insurance by shopping around, so it is well worth comparing your options.
I wonder if home insurance can cover you for any water or mould damage? As we’re bound to be experiencing some more bad weather in the next couple of weeks and my friend and I want to make sure that our homes are in tip-top condition before we are no longer able to do it safely. Did you know that leaves can clog up your guttering system, so much so that it can stop any water from being able to drain away? Our other friend recently used somewhere similar to this Clean Pro Gutter Cleaning Springfield company and she was surprised at just how much debris and damage there was to her home. She sent me the pictures and even I was shocked! Maybe I should do the same because I don’t want to have to think about any damage that I would need to sort out on my home. That definitely won’t be fun.
Anyway, I know I preach about putting some effort in to feel better about tackling the day and all, but these rules go out the window in this kind of weather. I sacrificed my hair and make up this morning to leave for work early. No photos to be taken in these conditions!
The good news is, I was able to take some photos the other day, when I was wearing my favourite black vegan leather pants. Side note – I love that it’s called “vegan leather” instead of “pleather” these days. Classy.
All of the spring clothes are beautiful (and tempting), but I’m just not feeling it yet, so I decided to keep things pretty…black. I seem to gravitate to mostly black when I wear those pants. Makes me feel edgy, I guess.
