I’ve been blogging for a little over a year now, and when I look back at how far I’ve come and how much I’ve learned in the process, it’s pretty incredible. Of course, I still have a lot to learn, but that’s okay because I learn as I go. I think we all do.
When I first started blogging, I used a basic point and shoot camera to snap my photos, and I thought they looked….fine. Not good, but fine. I thought it wasn’t a big deal, because my outfits looked nice and my writing was (hopefully) entertaining.
The issue is that I’m a bit of a perfectionist, and anytime I get my hands on a project, I just need to make it look “pretty.” I quickly realized that my blog wasn’t going to look pretty unless I picked up a DSLR camera and of course, learned how to use it!
Instantly, I felt like the quality of my posts had dramatically improved, but I couldn’t stop there. In the last few weeks, I’ve come to discover just how amazing it is to edit photos with Photoshop. UM. Like, I’m kind of obsessed and wondering why I didn’t try to learn how to use it sooner. Live and learn, right?
As much as playing up the brightness, adjusting the saturation and of course throwing in the Gaussian Blur can do wonders, it doesn’t mean we don’t have outtakes!
Sometimes, in the process of shooting photos, we have a few less-than-perfect shots. We’re all real people and it happens. At least, it happens to me!
