Isn’t it crazy how within a 24 hour period, the world seems to shift from a fall/Halloween mentality right into the holiday season? Now that it’s November, the stores are decorated and ready for Christmas, Starbucks has red cups (and holiday drinks)… and it gets dark at 5:00. It’s all a matter of time before we’re talking about that four letter “s” word around here, too.

I have a friend who embraces the holiday season as soon as it’s “acceptable” to do so. Having spent the weekend at her house, my other friends and I witnessed the excitement firsthand. She gets more excited about the holidays than anyone else I know, so it didn’t surprise me  to watch her pull out a few Christmas pillows…the morning after Halloween.

Meanwhile, it’s looking like an unseasonably warm week ahead, so I’m celebrating by wearing faux fur and a black denim skirt…without any tights. It’s the little things, right? Seriously though, how cute is the faux fur and denim skirt combination? I recently attended the launch party to celebrate TOPSHOP opening at Upper Canada Mall, and this skirt was one of the pieces that I picked up. I love it so much that I may have worn it two days in a row last week.

I’ve been attending more events these days and the TOPSHOP launch was a lot of fun. They had a DJ, hors d’oeurves, mocktails, a selfie booth and lipstick touch ups. I got to hang out with a couple other bloggers, and meet Liz Trinnear, who was the special guest. It was actually so cute to watch some of the younger girls talking to her, and see how much they looked up to her for style tips and advice.

One of the things I love about events is checking out the photos afterwards. Below are a few of my favourites!

Ahh as much as I love the holiday season, I feel like there’s an order that has to be followed when it comes to celebrating them. Halloween first, then (American) Thanksgiving and THEN Christmas. I moved to my new apartment in early October I remember they had Christmas decorations out when I went to shop for supplies at Macy’s! Way too soon!
I am in LOVE with your fur vest!! I’ve been on the lookout for a nice one but I can never seem to find one that looks good on me. I think yours looks amazing and goes perfectly with the rest of your neutral Autumn look!

Right, I forgot about Thanksgiving! We have ours in October, which is why we instantly jump into Christmas after Halloween. I guess it must be even crazier for you guys, getting into the Thanksgiving AND holiday spirit!

I am loving this look Jackie! It is so rare this time of the year to be comfortably warm and wearing bare legs, but hey might as well embrace it!

Everyone has unpacked their faux fur vests. It’s really making me want one, but I’m just unsure of how often I would wear it.

    What a fun event!
I love your outfit, it’s so perfect for this time of year. I’ll be honest, I had to sit and think for a second about what four letter “s” word you were talking about. hahaha! Then it clicked and I felt your pain. I too am dreading the long, winter season. If it didn’t last so long, I would love it a lot more…

Ah! Such a fun put together. I love the vest with your highlighted locks! And yes- it’s like october – january is non-stop commercialization of the holiday seasons. I like it actually, but for me, I wish it was more about the holiday (for example, Christmas and Jesus or Thanksgiving and family…although the whole premise of thanksgiving’s origin is not that positive… but you know what I mean). Enjoy the warm week! I hope you can come on over to my bloggie too! I just did an awesome interview with an ethical fashion company based in Guatemala!

The Topshop party sounds great and I love your faux fur vest. Usually I’m not really a fan of the cold, but I really can’t wait to start layering so I’m ready for the fall/winter seasons. I even had my first red cup today, woohoo!

Obsessed with this look! The skirt, vest and glasses are paired so perfectly together! The transition from Halloween to the holidays is crazy…I mean it barely exists! I swear Sunday morning after Halloween the commercials for Christmas started and the IG posts for holiday dresses were in full force. I am ready for the holiday though too, so I’m not complaining 🙂

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
