Best outfits of 2015 from Something About That - Toronto fashion blogger

Like every year, 2015 was full of ups and downs, but it was also a year of change for me.

I spent the last few months of 2014 and the first few months of 2015 feeling very “stuck” in my career. I was conflicted because while I loved the company I worked for, I no longer loved my job. It felt like a “job” and not a “career,” so after some thought, I decided it was time to give my notice. You may remember that instead of moving to another job, I decided to take a course in web design at a local community college. I spent the summer as a full-time student, which was a really big change, since I’d spent the past few years in an office.

After finishing school, I thought that I should dive into freelance web design work as my new career choice, since part of the course taught us how to manage this on our own. Working from home and being your own boss is the dream of many people. You set your own hours, don’t have to deal with the commute and you can wear PJ’s to work. Sounds great, right? I thought so too, but the truth is, at this point in my life, it really doesn’t work for me! I missed having a place to go everyday, a reason to wear cute outfits, colleagues to talk to, and even a boss to help keep me focused.

So…the latter part of 2015 was spent (successfully) job hunting! I start a new job at a new company on Monday and I’m very excited. I’ll be working as a web and graphic designer at a high-end kid’s clothing and accessories company. I’m going to continue blogging and doing part-time freelance work, so I’ll be busy…and I can’t wait!

As far as blogging is concerned, 2015 was a pretty fabulous year. Within the last 12 months, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with some really incredible companies and brands, so I wanted to thank you all for the support. Thank you for reading and following along on this blogging journey of mine! I’m continually learning and working to improve my photography and content, but I’m still very proud of what I put out there in 2015. I can’t wait to embark on the adventures that 2016 has in store!

For now, I wanted to share the best outfits of the year (at least in my opinion)!

That maxi skirt from July is my FAVORITE! Anything floral and flowy calls my name. Love all of your outfits and am excited to hear more about your new job! You had such a great year of outfits in 2015 and I’m really looking forward to what 2016 brings you :). I’m considering getting more into fashion posts myself and might shoot you an email with some questions sometime this week if you don’t mind!

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
