Well, another Monday is upon us, friends. Are you ready?
Ready or not, there’s no denying that 2015 is well underway and that many of us are starting to settle back in our routines. With schedules getting busy again, it’s easy to slip back into old habits. I know that in the past I’ve let certain things sit on the back-burner, and I’m trying to take small steps to change some of these things. The key word here is “small.” Changes are a lot easier to stick with with they’re small, and goals are easier to achieve when they are within reach.
New Year, clean slate. Come on, let’s begin again!
Here’s a few things that I’m looking to change in 2015. So far, so good:
1. Every morning, drink a glass of warm water with the juice of half a lemon squeezed into it.
The benefits of this habit are lengthy: relief from digestive issues, boosting vitamin C intake, improved mood, reducing hunger and cravings, increased energy, and improved liver function. I don’t know if I’ve seen these results directly, but I feel good about doing this.
2. Start exercising again, to work up to that 10K in May.
Over the last several months, I’ve really fallen off the fitness wagon. Aside from wanting to tone up and lose some weight, I want to run a 10K again this spring. I ran this race last year, and it was incredible. I want to be able to run the race again…and beat last year’s time.
3. Use a planner to keep track of ideas and inspiration to build a better blog this year.
Inspiration isn’t always there…and that’s okay! I’m trying to be better about jotting down ideas, thoughts and an editorial calendar. I always find that I have so many ideas, and never have time to execute them. Hopefully, spending the time to plan will help me utilize those more productive days. I hate “wasting” good ideas!
4. Stay organized (in a physical sense).
I’m the queen of getting messier and more unorganized as the week goes on. By late week, I get tired, so I stop putting clothing and accessories away. It makes me feel…messy. I’m trying to take the extra 2 minutes a day to keep things tidy.
5. Eat more fruit.
I just think this is a good idea 🙂
How are your resolutions going so far, if you have any?
