An Exciting Day

in Fashion, Outfit Post on 05/04/13

I had some really great and unexpected news come my way the other day at work.

The day began as it always does. Wake up. Decide what to wear. Get dressed. Do my hair. Put on my makeup. Drive to the bus. Take bus to the subway. Take subway. Go to Starbucks. Walk to work. Do my work….

But, mid-afternoon, I got pulled into a meeting. I never really think anything of it when my boss says, “let me know when you have a second.” We always have impromptu meetings about one thing or another. My suspicion and nerves crept up a bit when he said he wanted to chat in the boardroom and not at his desk. I always think the worst, so positive reasons for the meeting wouldn’t have ever crossed my mind.

After some torturous small talk, I found out that I was getting promoted! Immediately!

I can’t even tell you how many emotions were brewing inside of me. Of course I was elated (and still am), but I was also excited, nervous, surprised, and well…did I say nervous?

The next few weeks will inevitably be insane, but it’s a learning process and I’m so happy to have the new opportunity.

Funny enough, I was already feeling pretty awesome that day, because I had on a really springy and bright outfit. I have this crazy obsession with funky pants from the Gap, so I was really excited to finally get to wear these. I guess it turned out, my outfit matched my mood.

Jacket: Soia & Kyo
Chambray: American Eagle (Here in this year’s version)
Tank top: Joe Fresh
Necklace: Material Girl via The Bay
Jeans: Gap
Belt: Gap (Here in other colours)
Booties: Brown’s Shoes

Happy weekend!

That denim shirt is such a staple, so I love mixing it with something more trendy like the pants.

      Thanks for reading 🙂

Thank you!! I get the waves by using a curling iron and a bizarre twisting technique I saw on Youtube. Someday, I’ll have to figure out how to post a video.

2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all r 2020 has without a doubt been a year we will all remember. It’s been a big rollercoaster, but there’s no one else I’d rather ride it with than @woodley.matt 🥰

We’ve endured so.many.challenges this year...but we’ve also had some of the best and most exciting moments of our lives this year.

I still can’t believe we bought a house, got engaged AND got a puppy this year (all within a month)! 🤯

Nobody knows what 2021 will bring, but what we do know is, it will start the same way 2020 ended: at home.

I also know we will finally be finishing and moving into our new home in early 2021, and I CANNOT WAIT!! As for wedding plans...ehh, it’s a little tricky to plan these days, so we’ll cross that bridge a little later 😜

Wishing you all a safe and happy new year at home! 🥳 (which I’m totally okay with - I’m a 👵🏻 anyways)

Now that these have been gifted, I can share these Now that these have been gifted, I can share these!

I picked up knitting needles for the first time in 10+ years (maybe more?!) at the start of the pandemic. I bought a DIY unicorn kit and it took me months before I got around to finishing it. Still, I enjoyed it.

So, this year, I thought it would be fun to knit up a few gifts for Christmas presents.

My next project? I’m going to attempt to knit myself a cardigan. 🤭😲🤗

Christmas 2020 - like many things this year, not “normal,” but we made plenty of memories.

We had a low-key Christmas morning, filled with Bailey’s coffee, Miller snuggles (and weird facial expressions) and cinnamon buns. We finished off the day with a Jewish Christmas dinner: Chinese take out!

I’m finishing up the last of the gifting projects and then it’s onto baking cookies! 💁🏼‍♀️

I *think* I know what I’ll be baking...but I’m having a tough time committing 🤪

Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁 Even though it hasn Happy thanksgiving!! 🍂🍁

Even though it hasn’t been a “normal” Thanksgiving weekend, there is so much to be thankful for.

One (very) small thing I’m thankful for is that I took Matt’s advice on forgoing my usual butter-only pie crust recipe for one that includes shortening. I used the pumpkin pie recipe from @sallysbakeblog - including the mix of shortening and butter in the crust. I think it was my best pumpkin pie yet!
(The Turkey was fantastic too of course 😏)
