accessories: one dress, four ways

I’m so excited to finally share the details of a special project I’ve been working on with Upper Canada Mall. Did you catch my “hints” on Instagram and Twitter?

I was invited to chat with the mall’s Marketing Director, Jennifer Kleinberg, to be a part of their ‘Get Gorgeous’ blogger video series. To say I was excited is an understatement, so naturally, I jumped on the opportunity. With a wide range of stores and fantastic staff, Upper Canada Mall is one of my favourite malls and I was humbled that they wanted to work with me.

The entire experience of shopping with the Upper Canada Mall team was amazing. We walked the mall, scouting out the best type of fashion accessories as well as some of the season’s best clothing options, filming along the way. It was pretty surreal to be followed through the mall by a camera, and of course, I loved every minute of it.

The focus of this month’s video is accessories. As you already know, my love for accessories runs strong (I mean just check out these diamond bracelets for her – stunning right?), so the topic was perfect for me. After all, I’m always talking about how important accessories are to not only create a gorgeous outfit, but also to add a personal “spin” to any look.

In Upper Canada Mall’s latest issue of Gorgeous magazine, it’s easy to recognize that all of the outfits are pulled together with fabulous accessories. A range of jewellery to help differentiate your outfit could be found through companies such as Berry’s Jewellers to dress your outfit up. The individual pieces of clothing they feature showcase certain themes (ex: military chic, summer whites, boho), but the accessories help to bring everything together.

As we chatted about in the video, an outfit is like a “blank canvas” and accessories are your media. It’s by adding accessories that anyone can take a simple dress, sweater, or pair of jeans and style them in completely different ways.

For the video, I chose a really cute, simple chambray dress from Banana Republic and styled it three different ways through the accessories I paired with it. The options are endless and you can mix and match to make the look your own.

    I completely agree with you on accessories; it’s basically the seasoning on top of a dish. /The flavour of the main course is determined strongly by the seasoning! Love love love your ways of styling the dress! They’re all so chic, fun yet different!
