There’s so many silly fashion rules out there, but in my opinion, the silliest of all is no white after Labor Day. That “rule” has never made sense to me! As long as you’re dressed appropriately for the weather, it shouldn’t matter what colour(s) are included in your outfit. No matter how outdated or ridiculous the idea of no white after Labor Day is, it’s clearly stood the test of time…since we’re still talking about it!

White is one of my favourite (non)colours to wear, so why not continue wearing it after Labor Day and into the fall? Exactly – there’s no reason not to! I’ve worn white in the fall and winter plenty of times before (as you can see here, here and here). Does that make me a rebel, or just your average fashion blogger?
I’ve paired this eyelet white lace dress with cool-weather accessories, to ensure I don’t freeze my butt off when the temperatures cool down. Throw on a wool felt hat, cozy scarf, and your favourite pair of leather ankle booties and you’ve got yourself the perfect outfit for fall. When it starts to get a little bit too cold for bare arms, add a leather motorcycle jacket for a complete look that transitions to fall perfectly.

Love these inspiring looks — especially the white skinny jeans! And totally agree, it seems so ridiculous that wearing white after Labor Day is some sort of faux pas…I love winter white!

I agree it is such a silly rule! I’m typically a major rule follower but that it one that’s made to be broken!
